The name of the president of Congress, Roy Barreras, has been mentioned in recent days as a possible presidential candidate, following the launch of his party called "La Fuerza de la Paz", with which he will compete in the regional elections on October 29 .

The Centro Nacional de Consultoría -CNC- carried out today for CM& a survey in the five main cities of the country on this possibility. These are the results of the survey.

Would you like Roy Barreras to be a presidential candidate?

Yes you would like: 16%

Wouldn't like it: 58%

Don't know/No: 26%

Barrier Reaction

Senator Barreras reacted to the result of the survey saying that, if he had been asked, he would also answer no: "it would be irresponsible for someone to launch a presidential candidacy seven months after the start of President Petro's term," he said.

"At this moment, everyone, especially me, is responsible for the obligation to work full-time to advance President Petro's social reforms," said Barreras.
