The first public opinion survey carried out by the Colombian Observatory of the Cannabis Industry reveals that 63% of Colombians believe that the sales tax on cannabis products would improve social investment.
The cannabis industry is on the way to making progress in terms of reputation in the country.
But part of its progress was evidenced in the first public opinion survey on the cannabis industry carried out by the Colombian Observatory of the Cannabis Industry together with the Centro Nacional de Consultoría, in which they consulted more than 2,000 Colombians from all over the country.
There it is revealed that 1 out of 4 people have used medicinal or cosmetic products that contain cannabis, and of these, 91% would recommend its use. Of all those who have used, 84% have done so in creams and ointments or ointments.
Who are those who use these products?
The survey says that they are especially people from high and young strata.
The survey also indicates that less than half of Colombians believe that the use of cannabis will make people use more addictive drugs (47%).
Meanwhile, for 63% of Colombians, the sales tax on cannabis products would improve social investment.
“The results of the survey show that Colombians see value in the cannabis industry: especially among the upper strata and young people. There is still a long way to go in terms of industry reputation, and part of this will be expanding access to cannabis-based medicinal and cosmetic products for consumers with fewer economic resources," said Mónica Hoyos, deputy director of Ecosystems for Development at Jaime Arteaga y Asociados and leader of the Observatory of the Cannabis Industry in Colombia.
