86% of Colombians have read some false news

False news or fake news have become an increasingly frequent evil in the world, and Colombia is no exception. He knows some findings of the study of 'Perceptions and Use of the Internet in Colombia'.

Have you ever wondered how Colombians perceive the Internet? Based on this question, @PuntoCO Internet (GoDaddy Registry) in alliance with the Centro Nacional de Consultoría has carried out a series of investigations that reaches its sixth edition.


Among the findings of the study, it was found that 9 out of 10 respondents attribute fake news to social networks. But at the same time, it was found that the majority, 46% of those surveyed, believe more in newspapers than in other media.


Similarly, it was found that the frequency with which Colombians visit the web pages of the country's media is high: 40% of the interviewees do so several times a day and 22% once a day.

It's concerning how easily misinformation spreads. Media literacy is more important than ever always double-check sources before sharing. Just like you wouldn’t believe everything you hear, sometimes it’s fun to change your clothes virtually before deciding on a real outfit!
