The results of the Great Entrepreneurship Survey, which was applied for the second time in Bogotá and in 59 Cundinamarca municipalities that are part of its jurisdiction, will be presented this Wednesday, December 7, by the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce (CCB). Follow the presentation of the Survey at www.eltiempo.com, on December 7, from 2 p.m. by clicking on this link.

The Great Entrepreneurship Survey is an instrument that presents, like no other, a 360º x-ray of what the companies of Bogotá and the region are like, as well as the economic and demographic characteristics of the business community, with a comprehensive vision and a gender focus. The survey was applied by the Centro Nacional de Consultoría to some 2,275 companies, bringing together both those that are part of the Mercantile Registry and those businesses that are not. In addition to the data that will be revealed as a result of the survey, a panel will be held to discuss the role of public policy in business development, at the Hilton Hotel, at 2 p.m., whose broadcast may be followed by www.eltiempo.com

The panel will include the participation of María Fernanda Valdés, Vice Minister of Business Development of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism; Ana María García, Vice President of Loyalty and Organizational Experience of the Centro Nacional de Consultoría; Rosario Córdoba Garcés, economist, competitiveness expert and member of boards of directors such as Grupo Argos, El Tiempo Casa Editorial and FiduBogotá, and Nicolás Uribe Rueda, executive president of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce.

Importance of the survey

The Great Entrepreneurship Survey provides key data, such as the circumstances in which companies are created, information that becomes a fundamental tool to support them during this critical stage. Also, it indicates how the business community identifies itself, which allows us to understand the way in which this important segment of the population thinks and makes decisions. The Survey also makes it possible to define how businesses operate and develop. It shows if the business community is indebted; the level of income, sales and debts they have; the number of employees and the distribution that it has among women, young people and even if they have people with disabilities. In turn, it provides data such as social security payment, use of digital tools, training in financial education, and ways of keeping accounts. It should be noted that the survey is carried out with a gender perspective, which makes it possible to identify how decisions are made, depending on whether the person making it is a woman or a man, including the incorporation of objectives associated with gender equality, protocols to address cases of sexual harassment and goals of inclusion of the LGBTI population.
